Surfing pregnant OZ, Bali, Venezuela…

When I find out that I was pregnant, Baby Julia already has surfed in Australia, Bali and Venezuela…

After that surprise, I was trying to surf naturally because feeling insecure was even more dangerous, obviously because if you doubt, you fall…

It was a challenge. I need it a lot to control my fears, my mind and take care of my self and my baby in some beaches like Snapper… The crowd was the most dangerous thing ever at that place…. not even the sharks… because when women´s are pregnant, the double heartbeat of both, mom and baby, confuse them, and they don´t attack you.

I was not lucky to know this at that time!!! I was always scare surfing in Oz. My good friend Sol Valdez from Ecuador, told me about the double heartbeat. She was surfing in north Stradie, Australia, when she saw under her board a big shark just there, like checking her. She told me she paddle out like crazy and wipeout on the wave she catched to get out . She told me that under the water, she felt the shark near her…. 2 weeks after, she found out that she was pregnant of baby Amelí.  Maybe that was the reason why the shark didn’t attack her. Babies are pure magic.

The last months of pregnancy,  I surfed in Venezuela, at “Los Caracas” right hander with a SUP thanks to my very good friends Gaby Benatar and Natasha Veit… I swam with the row and Naty with the paddle board. It was not heavy to get on the board with the big belly, but I can tell that Julia really felt it!!
